GLEN ALLEN -- Elizabeth Pauline Gibson, 86, of Glen Allen died Friday, July 17, 1998, at the Heritage Gardens Nursing Center in Jackson. She was born Nov. 10, 1911, at Bear Springs, Tenn., daughter of Ben and Sally Green Selph. She married John Elbert Legate. He died May 19, 1956. She later married Floyd Gibson. GLEN ALLEN -- Elizabeth Pauline Gibson, 86, of Glen Allen died Friday, July 17, 1998, at the Heritage Gardens Nursing Center in Jackson.

She was born Nov. 10, 1911, at Bear Springs, Tenn., daughter of Ben and Sally Green Selph.

She married John Elbert Legate. He died May 19, 1956. She later married Floyd Gibson. He also preceded her in death.

She attended the McGee Chapel Church and was a retired nurse's aide, having worked many years at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City, Ill., and the Bond Nursing Care Center in Marble Hill.

She is survived by four sons, James and Jerry Legate, both of Granite City, Elbert Junior Legate of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Terry Legate of Marble Hill; three daughters, Orlean Clifton and Peggy Collins, both of Glen Allen, Brenda Joyce Danner of Pittsgrove, N.J.; three brothers, Claude Selph of Bear Springs, Roby Selph of Granite City, Russell Selph of Johnsonville, Ill.; a sister, Bessie Morgan of Johnsonville; 46 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

A son, daughter, four brothers, three sisters and three grandchildren preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Clinton Massa officiating. Burial will follow at McGee Chapel Cemetery near Glen Allen.
