LONGTOWN, Mo. -- Elizabeth L. "Betty" Farrar, 88, of Longtown died Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville, Missouri. She was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Perry County, daughter of Henry Nicholas and Sophia Josephine Wibbenmeyer Buchheit. She and Lloyd Valle Farrar were married Sept. 10, 1949. LONGTOWN, Mo. -- Elizabeth L. "Betty" Farrar, 88, of Longtown died Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville, Missouri.

She was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Perry County, daughter of Henry Nicholas and Sophia Josephine Wibbenmeyer Buchheit. She and Lloyd Valle Farrar were married Sept. 10, 1949. He preceded her in death Oct. 7, 2002.

She was a piece worker at International Shoe Factory for 30 years. She also worked at Perry County Nursing Home in dietary for 15 years. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharee (Gene) Galnore of Jackson and Patti Farrar of Uniontown, Missouri; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Mark; four brothers, Herman, Raymond, Edwin and Henry; five sisters, Talida, Flora, Hilda, Sister Dina and Cornelia; four infant brothers; and one infant sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 6 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

She then will be taken to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Milton Ryan CM officiating. Burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Association.
