Elisabeth (Betty) P. Lehman, 77, of 2040 Thilenius St., died Feb. 21, 1993, at the Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born Sept. 20, 1915, in St. Louis, to A.C. Penn and Bess Myrick Penn. They preceded her in death.

She married Hal B. Lehman June 1, 1940, in St. Louis. He survives.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau for more than 50 years. She was a Sunday school teacher, a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women, and a past member of the official board of the church.

In the past, she taught junior high and elementary music in Hayti, Mo. She also was a substitute teacher in the Cape Girardeau Public Schools.

She was associated with the Otahki Girl Scouts for more than 40 years, serving as a past council president, and was a recipient of the Thanks Badge.

She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University and the St. Louis Music Academy. She also was a volunteer with the Red Cross and United Way.

She is survived by her husband; one son, H. Burton Lehman Jr. of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Jeanie Allgood of Cape Girardeau, Peggy Barringer of Cape Girardeau and Lisa Huey of Cape Girardeau; and six grandchildren. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Visitation will be at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Centenary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
