PERRYVILLE -- Eli Francis Hoffman, 87, of Perryville, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1994, at Aspen Forest Care Center. He was born Nov. 28, 1906, in Perry County, son of Lewis and Rosa Schamel Hoffman. He and Rosella C. Balsman were married April 19, 1937. She died Jan. 1, 1977...

PERRYVILLE -- Eli Francis Hoffman, 87, of Perryville, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1994, at Aspen Forest Care Center.

He was born Nov. 28, 1906, in Perry County, son of Lewis and Rosa Schamel Hoffman. He and Rosella C. Balsman were married April 19, 1937. She died Jan. 1, 1977.

Hoffman was a retired farmer and formerly owned and operated a Texaco service station here.

Survivors include two sons, Donald and Calvin Hoffman; a daughter, Nancy Pohlman, all of Perryville; two sisters, Bertha Hoehn of Perryville, Naoma Anderson of Lindsay, Calif.; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and on Friday from 6:30-10:45 a.m. The wake will be at 7 tonight.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerry Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
