CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Elery Lee Hodge, 92, of Chaffee died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 7, 1908, at Neelys Landing, Mo., son of John William and Emma Nora Garner Hodge. He and Lora Delo Dunn were married Aug. 22, 1931, at Jackson, Mo. She died June 23, 1983.
Hodge retired from Little River Drainage District in 1974, and also had been a custodian at First Baptist Church. He was a member of First Baptist.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas and Richard Hodge of Chaffee, John Hodge of Kennett, Mo.; two daughters, Nelda Gross of Leemon, Mo., Lena Ancell of Chaffee; a sister, Lorene Sides of Leemon; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sons, a daughter, two brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Fruitland, Mo.
