SEYMOUR, Mo. -- Eleanor L. Todd Smith, 76, of Dallas, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at her home.
She was born Sept. 9, 1924, at Seymour, daughter of Earl and Iva Todd. She married the Rev. William P. Smith.
Eleanor was a funeral director in the Dallas area many years, retiring in 1990.
She was a mentor to many young people as they began their funeral service career. In her sweet, quiet way Eleanor ministered to many, many people over the years.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Smith of Garland, Texas, Sharla Harrison of Dallas; a son, Ricky P. Smith Sr. of Dallas; two sisters, Earlene Hope of Richardson, Texas, Darlene Dixon of Houston, Texas; a brother, Kenneth Todd of Enid, Okla.; six grandchildren, Rachael, Randy and Patrick Smith; Aundria Stober, LeAnna Gore and Todd Mossburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, Mary Heeb, and a grandson, Ricky P. Smith Jr.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Spring Valley Bible Church, 6500 Spring Valley Road in Dallas. The Rev. Jim Dockens and the Rev. Herman Mattox will officiate. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Friends may call at the church Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
