Eleanor Mary Scharenborg, 83, of Jackson died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at her home in Jackson.
She was born Wednesday, May 18, 1932, in Leopold, Missouri, to John George and Frances Aleida VanGennip Scharenborg.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She worked for International Shoe Company in Jackson for 40 years. After her work with International, she taught GED classes at the Cape Girardeau Vocational Technical School. She worked for Nearly Perfect Shoes in Jackson before retiring.
During her working career, she also was a photographer, doing weddings and portraits.
Eleanor is survived by two sisters, Mary H. (Art) Schuermann of Saint Louis and Frances E. Scharenborg of Jackson; three brothers, Everett J. (Bernie) Scharenborg, John J. (Kathyren) Scharenborg and Joseph C. Scharenborg, all of Jackson; and nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Jerome, Martin and Wilfred "Bill" Scharenborg.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson, with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Church.
