Eleanor Elizabeth Benson, 75, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Feb. 18, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Oct. 1, 1918, at Jackson, daughter of Maple E. and Frances E. Strong Joerns. She and George E. Benson were married June 3, 1963. He died in 1988...

Eleanor Elizabeth Benson, 75, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Feb. 18, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 1, 1918, at Jackson, daughter of Maple E. and Frances E. Strong Joerns. She and George E. Benson were married June 3, 1963. He died in 1988.

Benson was a housekeeper 25 years at St. Francis Medical Center.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Brown of Newark, Ohio, Bradley Brown of Cape Girardeau, Eddie Brown of St. Louis; a daughter, Donna Volkerding of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 2-4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ronnie Brown will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
