Eleanor R. Taylor Brown, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born in Peoria, Illinois, to Harry H. and Ruth V. Church Taylor on Jan. 9, 1928. Eleanor and Reece Brown were married in Sikeston, Missouri, Feb. 10, 1972.

She graduated from Bartonville (Illinois) High School and from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She taught art and kindergarten and elementary classes in the Chaffee, Missouri, public schools. She was a member of Maple United Methodist Church of Cape Girardeau.

Eleanor enjoyed traveling, crafts, and nature watching.

She is survived by a daughter, Jan Carron (Jeff Davis) of Denver; son, Scott (Patti) House of Cape Girardeau; grandson, John (Traci) Carron, and their children, Calen and Abigael, all of Boulder, Colorado; and stepdaughter, Deb (Scott) Cary of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Reece Brown; parents; brothers, LaVerne "Dutch" Taylor and Harry "Otey" Taylor; and daughter, Christine Sharpe.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau.

There are no services planned at this time.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
