JACKSON -- Elda A. Sperling, 84, of Jackson, died Monday, Jan. 29, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 5, 1911, west of Gordonville, daughter of Albert and Bertha Lange Schwab. She and Fred C. Sperling were married Feb. 19, 1938. He died Sept. 6, 1963...

JACKSON -- Elda A. Sperling, 84, of Jackson, died Monday, Jan. 29, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 5, 1911, west of Gordonville, daughter of Albert and Bertha Lange Schwab. She and Fred C. Sperling were married Feb. 19, 1938. He died Sept. 6, 1963.

Sperling was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church near Gordonville.

Survivors include a son, Gary Sperling of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Phyllis McClanahan of Cape Girardeau, Carolyn Lewandoski of Fenton; a sister, Alma Grebe of Jackson; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Church. with the Rev. Karl Leeman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
