ELDA BERGT

ALTENBURG -- Elda A. Bergt, 89, of Altenburg died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 10, 1910, at Frohna, daughter of Gustav and Concordia Kaufman Weinhold. She and Gerhard W. "Gary" Bergt were married in November 1941. He died Feb. 16, 1992.

Bergt was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Hurston and Kathy Schuessler of St. Louis; two sons, Gary Bergt of Livingston, Texas, Donald Bergt of Altenburg; a brother, Harold Weinhold of St. Louis; a sister, Gladys "Tutty" Reid of St. Louis; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel from 4-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-8:30 a.m.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Church, with the Rev. Ahlert Strand officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
