FARRAR, Mo. -- Elberta K. "Birdie" Meier, 83, of Farrar died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at Perry County Nursing Home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1922, at Farrar, daughter of John Otto and Emma M. Weibrecht Lohmann. She and Wilbert Gottlieb "Bill" Meier were married June 27, 1948. He died March 10, 1977.
Meier retired as a lab tester at Gilster-Mary Lee. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, its Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Senior Servants.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Schuessler of Frohna, Mo., Joyce Lorenz of Farrar; a sister, Amanda Fritsche of Farrar; a brother, Willard Lohmann of Farrar; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, Mo., from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
