Elbert Lee Drum, 66, of Friedheim, Mo., died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 8, 1936 in Friedheim, Mo., son of Avery and Alice Hanners Drum. He and Florence M. Dambach were married Dec. 19, 1959.
Drum was a farmer and carpenter in the Daisy and Friedheim area. He also worked for the Oak Ridge School district for 13 years as head of maintenance and bus mechanic.
He served in the Army National Guard for 10 years and was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church, the Cape County Coon Hunters Association and a retired member of the North Cape Girardeau County Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Candace Drum of Friedheim; one brother, Ralph Drum of Friedheim; one sister, Artie Brewer of Perryville, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Chapel in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the New Salem United Methodist Church in Daisy, Mo., with the Rev. Nick Perry and the Rev. Fred Rister officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Daisy.
