SCOTT CITY -- Elaine Rauk, 59, of Kenyon, Minn., died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at her home.
She was born March 29, 1940, in Atlas, Ill., daughter of William and Rosalie Hillman. She and Rodney Rauk were married July 12, 1969.
Her family moved to Scott City in 1943. She attended St. Augustine and St. Denis Elementary Schools, Kelly High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in music from Southeast Missouri State University in 1961.
Rauk taught elementary music classes eight years and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe prior to her marriage.
She taught private piano lessons, and served as a 4-H contact leader. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and was a confirmation teacher and organist many years. She also worked with the developmentally disabled.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Robyn Rauk of San Jose, Calif., Rhonda Bender of Warrensburg; four sons, Randall Rauk of Nerstrand, Minn., Marty, Benjamin and Thomas Rauk of Kenyon; and her mother of Scott City.
Also surviving are five sisters, Dolores Ketcherside of St. Peters, Clara Batye of Webster Groves, Eva Richards of Benton, Mary Sherman of St. Charles, Lea Hillman of Scott City; four brothers, Patrick Hillman of Cape Girardeau, Jerald and Stephen Hillman of Scott City, Dale Hillman of New London; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father, three brothers and an infant sister.
Friends may call at Hanson Funeral Home in Kenyon from 4-8 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be held at 7.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Church, with the Rev. Dennis Kampa officiating. Burial will be in Vang Cemetery in Nerstrand.
