PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elaine H. Hadler-Davis, 79, of Perryville died Monday, July 28, 2014, at Holiday Residential Care in Perryville. She was born Sept. 21, 1934, in Perry County, daughter of Theodore and Hilda Verseman Steffens. She and Harold L. Hadler were married June 18, 1955. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1987. She then married Harold Davis on May 18, 1996...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elaine H. Hadler-Davis, 79, of Perryville died Monday, July 28, 2014, at Holiday Residential Care in Perryville.

She was born Sept. 21, 1934, in Perry County, daughter of Theodore and Hilda Verseman Steffens. She and Harold L. Hadler were married June 18, 1955. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1987. She then married Harold Davis on May 18, 1996.

Elaine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and LWML in Crosstown, Missouri, and Crosstown Good Neighbors Club. She was an avid bowler and quilter.

Survivors include her husband; eight children, Denise (Stanley) Brueckner, Michael (Gwendy) Hadler, Sandra Roth, Randall (Tina) Hadler, Dianne (David) Richardet, all of Perryville, Stanley (Jennifer) Hadler of Altenburg, Missouri, Susan (Richard) Dix of Perryville and David Hadler of Frohna, Missouri; two stepsons, Craig Davis of Portland, Oregon, and Jeff Davis of Chicago; four siblings, LeeRoy Steffens of Union Grove, Wisconsin, Opal Mahnken, Cletus Steffens and Robert Steffens, all of Farrar, Missouri; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and 13 great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; and two grandsons, Dean and Doug Hadler.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Serenity Hospice or charity of your choice.
