ELAINE BRIGGEN

F. Elaine Briggen, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 14, 1915, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Walter and Dolly Ann Jones King. She and William Franklin Briggen were married Sept. 27, 1941, at Benton, Mo. He died Aug. 19, 1988.

Briggen was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, William Franklin Briggen Jr. of St. Louis; three daughters, Ann Amos of Scott City, Mo., Judy Stanley and Patsy Reid of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Roy King of Granite City, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Monday.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
