Eileen Ellen Boyd, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at Capetown Assisted Living.
She was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Topeka, Kansas, to Billy and Sciota Lindsey Isaacs.
Eileen graduated from Mayetta High School in Mayetta, Kansas. She attended Howard Payne College and Southwest Baptist College before taking time to raise her family. Eileen returned to Southeast Missouri State University, graduating in 1970 with her bachelor of science in elementary education.
Eileen taught at Meridian Elementary in Mounds, Illinois, for 21 years. Her love of teaching and her love of missions led her to continue teaching in America Samoa, Kazakhstan and Suriname.
She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church. Over the years she as involved in Sunday school, vacation bible school, Woman's Missionary Union, deaf ministry, Christian clowning and numerous mission trips.
She is survived by her twin sister, Nadine Fowler of Port Angeles, Washington; son, Charles (Sylvia) Boyd of Traskwood, Arkansas; daughter, Linda (Steve) Meadows of Nixa, Missouri; son, Scott Boyd of Mansfield, Missouri; daughter, Martha (Brad) Golden of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Sarah (Paul) LeClercq, Rebekah (David) Prince, Timothy Boyd, Jonathan (Renee) Boyd, Rachel (Mikey) Dailey, Kyle (Shaelyne) Meadows, Carrie (Justin) Cain and Benjamin Golden; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Hazel Pike; and brothers, Raymond and Robert Isaacs.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for missions through Lynwood Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery.
