JACKSON, Mo. -- Edwin A. "Ed" Yamnitz, 78, of Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 4, 1922, at Patton, Mo., son of Joseph and Annie Johnson Yamnitz. He and Doris Yamnitz were married Aug. 30, 1941. She died June 30, 1975. He and Oleta Brown Propst were married Aug. 7, 1976.
Yamnitz owned and operated Y&Y Motors in Perryville, Mo., 45 years. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson, and of the Founding Board of the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Carol Kassel of Altamont, Ill., Sharon Propst of Guatemala City, Guatemala, Adrianne Propst Cianciolo of New Bern, N.C.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Northcutt will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery at Perryville.
