EDWIN WOOD

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Edwin B. Wood, 80, of Sikeston died on Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born April 18, 1920, in East Prairie, Mo., to Jesse and Ida Daugherty Wood. He and Eunice Chism were married Oct. 9, 1948, in Sikeston.

Wood served in the Army and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1937 to 1939. He worked as a grain sampler for the Missouri Department of Agriculture grain division. He was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include his wife; five nephews, Jim Wood of Nashville, Tenn., Joe Wood, Jesse Wood and Patrick Wood all of Philadelphia, Pa., and Steven Wood of Sikeston; and a niece, Linda Wood of Baltimore, Md.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Jim Trotter will officiate, with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
