Edwin F. Wilmsmeyer, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born April 21, 1907, at New Franklin, son of Christian and Amanda Taake Wilmsmeyer. He and Marguerite P. Armgardt were married June 6, 1948, in Cape Girardeau.
Employed 30 years by the U.S. Postal Service, he had been a railway mail clerk with Missouri Pacific Railroad. After retiring, he was involved in real estate in St. Louis.
He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. He was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, serving in Italy and France.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen Shelby of Cape Girardeau, Doris Conn of O'Fallon; two brothers, Martin Wilmsmeyer of Franklin, Alfred Wilmsmeyer of Columbia; a sister, Freda Hackman of New Franklin; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel after 1 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. James Caughlan officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
