EDWIN LING

LAFORGE, Mo. -- Funeral for Edwin Ling of LaForge was held Monday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, Mo. The Rev. Tom McCanless officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery near New Madrid.

Ling, 62, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 11, 1938, son of John Henry and Versle Ann Rogers Ling. He and Shirley Shaw were married April 22, 1956, in Hernando, Miss.

Ling was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of New Madrid Eagles and Sikeston Elks.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ricky Ling of New Madrid, John Ling of LaForge; a daughter, Tamra McClellan of LaForge; two sisters, Marcella Shelby of Sikeston, Mo., Phyllisteen Landers of Alton, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
