JACKSON -- Edwin Hodge, 81, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1994, at his residence.
He was born April 27, 1912, at Fruitland, son of John and Emma Garner Hodge.
He married Irene McClard, June 19, 1943.
Hodge moved to Jackson in 1962 from Leemon, Mo. He has worked at the former Jackson Handle Factory, and the City Service and Track Side service stations. He also worked at the Ceramo Plant. From 1980-1989, he worked at the Dollar Store. He retired in 1989.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Hodge was a member of the Shawnee Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Lindel Hodge of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Darlene Wilkerson of Gravel Hill, Mo., Shirlene James of Marble Hill; a brother, Elery Hodge of Chaffee; three sisters, Cona King of Delta, Lorene Sides of Jackson, Pearl Medlock of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev. Raymond Epps officiating.
Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
