MCCLURE, Ill. -- Funeral service for Edward (Jug) Woodard of McClure will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The Rev. Frank Giunta will officiate, with burial in Lindsey Cemetery here.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Woodard, 53 years old, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Nov. 8, 1937, in McClure, son of Willie and Callie Hunsaker Woodard. He and the former Mary Winch were married Dec. 29, 1964, in Blytheville, Ark.

Woodard worked at Bloomsdale Excavating Co. more than 10 years, and at Fruin-Colnon Construction more than two years. He was of the Baptist faith, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Craftsman Independent Union 1 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael Foeste of McClure, Mark Foeste of Whitewater, Bill Foeste of Olive Branch; four daughters, Linda Poppen and Pat Pennington of Gale, Charlotte Beasley of Cape Girardeau, Barbara Mendenhall of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; a sister, Mary Merideth of Cypress; 23 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
