Edward Martin Thiele, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 23, 1913, at Egypt Mills, son of Martin and Caroline Margraf Thiele. He and Mona Wilkinson were married Nov. 16, 1968, at Marble Hill.
Thiele farmed in the Egypt Mills area most of his life, and had also worked at Schneider Equipment Co. He and a brother, Fred, had owned Egypt Mills Store.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Loyd and Stanley Dillingham of Cape Girardeau; three stepdaughters, Janet Welter and Neva Hindman of Cape Girardeau, Roxanna Lizenbee of Jackson; 12 stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, four sisters, and two stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Church Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
