MOREHOUSE -- Edward T. (Short) Burns, 74, of Morehouse, died Thursday, June 27, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Feb. 20, 1917, at Lakesville, Tenn., son of Robert A. and Nettie Talley Burns. MOREHOUSE -- Edward T. (Short) Burns, 74, of Morehouse, died Thursday, June 27, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Feb. 20, 1917, at Lakesville, Tenn., son of Robert A. and Nettie Talley Burns.

Burns formerly worked at Elmer Ernst Construction Co. in Sikeston, and was a member of Clines Island General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, John Burns of Perkins, Frank Burns of Evansville, Ind.; two sisters, Charlene Nolley of Kokomo, Ind., and Jewel Griffin of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, and his stepmother, Lena Burns.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter will officiate, with burial in Essex Cemetery.
