MOREHOUSE, Mo. -- Funeral for Edward "Buck" Roberson of Morehouse will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse. The Rev. W.H. Worth will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Mo.
Roberson, 86, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born May 5, 1914, in Hickman, Ky. He and Thelma Shelton Runyon were married July 10, 1952.
Roberson had been a truck driver, school bus driver, and farmer. He lived in Morehouse most of his life.
He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Roberson of Alexandria, Va., James Roberson of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Shelba Ford of Boynton Beach, Fla., Annette Moore of Centralia, Ill., Joan Nanney of Morehouse; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
