Funeral for Edward Carl Renfro of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. John Owen will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter City Cemetery at Dexter.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Renfro, 77, died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Kelso.
He was born Sept. 23, 1921, in Hector, Ark., son of Martin A. and Cora M. Churchill Renfro. He and Wilma B. Brown were married Dec. 23, 1951, at Dexter. She died Sept. 18, 1998.
Renfro was an optical technician at Rhea Optical 20 years, retiring in 1987.
He had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1967, and was a member of First Baptist Church. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Renfro of St. Louis, Kevin Renfro of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Deborah Drury of Kelso; two brothers, Elmo Renfro of Aztec, N.M., Leo Renfro of Bernie; two sisters, Marjorie Zimmerman of Dexter, Elladean Swallows of Asherville; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and two sisters.
