Edward Allen McGee, 65, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 21, 1957, in Blytheville, Arkansas, the son of Claud E. and Daisy B. Pennington McGee. He and Stephanie J. Slinkard were united in marriage April 27, 2002.
Edward worked at Saint Francis HealthCare Systems as a lab courier. He was a Navy veteran and member of St. Mary's Cathedral. He was known as the grillmaster by his family because barbecuing for them was one of his favorite things to do. He loved to wear Hawaiian shirts and was a fan of the Denver Broncos.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanie, of the home; two sons, Parker David McGee and Chase Edward Randolph; daughter, Emma Maxine McGee; mother, Daisy; and two sisters, Dean Goldsmith and Tee McGee.
Preceding him in death was his father, Claud.
A celebration of life service will be from 2 to 4 p.m. March 13 at VFW Hall in Cape Girardeau. All are welcome to attend. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield at a later date.
Arrangements were under the care of Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.
