Edward L. Davis, 41, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 11, 1954 in Cape Girardeau, son of Clifton Davis Jr. and Vermell M. Leisure.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Betty Davis, both of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Jimmy Williams of Cape Girardeau, Johnny Sam Crook of Venice, Ill., and Adam J. Smith of Madison, Ill.; two daughters, Angela K. Davis of Madison and Kelly Ann Crook of Venice; three brothers, Clifton James Davis and Billy Ray Davis, both of Edgemount, Ill., and Calvin Payne of Cape Girardeau; and seven sisters, Shirley J. Thomas of Chicago, Doris M. Jones and Carolyn A. Davis, both of Cahokia, Ill., and Callie Scott, Gestel A. Davis, Patricia Payne and Lisa Payne, all of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ford and Sons Funeral Home Sprigg Street Chapel.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the New Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at Lorimier Cemetery.
