MOUNDS, Ill. -- Edward Johnson, 74, of Mounds died Thursday, May 6, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 8, 1930, in Rockford, Ill., son of Julius and Ollie Vaughn Johnson.
Johnson was a retired general contractor, and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church at Villa Ridge, Ill.
Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Walls and Kathy Brey of Mounds, Lisa Dover of Grand Chain, Ill.; five sisters, Betty DelValle of Santa Fe, N.M., Nancy Payne of Bardwell, Ky., Daisy Buckles of Nashville, Tenn., Mary Davis of New Orleans, La., Martine Lambert of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Tom Johnson of Kevil, Ky., Alvey Johnson of Evansville, Ind., Ironford Johnson of Fairfax, Va.; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and a brother.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
