GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Edward Wayne Jerdon, 71, of Springfield, Ill., and formerly of Grand Chain, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at Massac memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

He was born Oct. 29, 1928, in Grand Chain. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Springfield.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Marie Milby of Metropolis.

He was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Jerdon.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Masonic Cemetery at Grand Chain, with the Rev. Joey Dunning officiating.

Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak is in charge of arrangements.
