Edward J. Brockmire, 94, of 3315 County Road 635 in Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1903, in Egypt Mills, the son of Henry and Rovena Brockmire. On Jan. 13, 1926, he married Esther R. Thiele in Jackson. She preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1978...

Edward J. Brockmire, 94, of 3315 County Road 635 in Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at his home.

He was born Jan. 4, 1903, in Egypt Mills, the son of Henry and Rovena Brockmire. On Jan. 13, 1926, he married Esther R. Thiele in Jackson. She preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1978.

He worked for 13 years with Frisco Railroad Company, as well as being a lifelong farmer in Egypt Mills. He was of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Finn, of Egypt Mills; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
