DEXTER, Mo. -- Funeral for Edward L. Bridges of Dexter will be held at 1 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home. Dr. Lynn Anderson and Cletus Lemmons will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
Bridges, 77, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter.
He was born April 4, 1924, in Newport, Ark., son of Gus and Margie Lewis Bridges. He and Jymme Chastain were married Aug. 31, 1945, in Piggott, Ark.
Bridges was a retired farmer, and member of Dexter Church of Christ.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Glenn Bridges of Dexter; a daughter, Jan Horner of Dexter; a brother, Gus Bridges Jr. of Eudora, Ark.; a sister, Alene Allmon of Corning, Ark.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
