Edonna Sue Sides, 52, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, following a prolonged illness.

She was born June 20, 1962, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Donald and Deloris Gulley Stull. She and Marcus Sides have been married more than 20 years.

Edonna was a 1980 graduate of Scott City High School. She worked several years at Estes Deli in Jackson and previously worked as a bus driver for Jackson School District and Parkview State School.

Loving survivors include her husband, Marcus of Jackson; a son, David Sweeney (Nicole Cook) and his daughter, Hayden Sweeney of Jackson; her father, Donald (Lydia) Stull of Jackson; her mother, Deloris Stull of Scott City; a sister, Debra (Andy) Brown of Millersville; two nieces, Nichole (Jeff) Lauback of Scott City, Julie (Jamey) Heisserer of Kelso, Missouri; a nephew, Kevin (Jessica) Mier of Farmington, Missouri; three step-siblings, Kyle Gribler of Brookfield, Missouri, Katina King of Dallas, Texas, Jennifer Clemons of Jefferson City, Missouri; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Anistyn Sweeney.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. Interment will be in Apple Creek Cemetery at Pocahontas.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the church or charity of your choice.
