WHITEWATER -- Funeral service for Edna Mavers of Whitewater will be held at 2 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Rodger West will officiate, with burial in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery at Gordonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 8:30 a.m.
Mavers, 91, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1993, at Cape LaCroix Manor in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 25, 1902, at Cowen, W.Va., daughter of Andrew and Betty Tanner Hamrick. She was adopted by Anna Bohnsack in 1911 and was reared at Gordonville. She and Willie R. Mavers were married Nov. 26, 1927, at Gordonville. He died Jan. 26, 1987.
Mavers was a member of Worldwide Church of God in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Fluegge of Whitewater, Wilma Langston of Cape Girardeau, Vanita Jones of Jackson; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers and a great-grandchild.
