EDNA LAYTON

BLOOMFIELD -- Edna Layton, 80, of Bloomfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1993, at her home.

She was born April 13, 1913, in Monette, Ark., daughter of Columbus and Clarisa Tippy Russell. She and Eddie Layton were married July 7, 1926. He died Nov. 2, 1981.

Layton was retired from Elder Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church at Aquilla, and attended Link Community Church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Layton of Kansas City, Kan., Leoid Layton of Chillicothe; three daughters, Dorothy White and Connie Hankins of Bloomfield, Virginia Cossey of Dexter; a brother, Burley Russell of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Mary McGee of Mountain Home, Ark.; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Edsel Pruett will officiate, with burial in Link Cemetery near here.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
