JACKSON -- Edna M. Grossheider, 92, of Jackson died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 26, 1904, at Jackson, daughter of Henry M. and Minnie Rust Birk. She and Leonard Grossheider were married Aug. 7, 1926. He died May 14, 1977...

JACKSON -- Edna M. Grossheider, 92, of Jackson died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 26, 1904, at Jackson, daughter of Henry M. and Minnie Rust Birk. She and Leonard Grossheider were married Aug. 7, 1926. He died May 14, 1977.

Grossheider attended Metro Business College in Cape Girardeau. She had worked at the former Groves-Snider Motor Co., the Insurance Group, the Office of Price Administration during World War II, and 45 years at Brennecke Chevrolet, all in Jackson. She retired in 1974.

She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, member of and held many offices in Ladies Auxiliary to Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, and was a member of American Association of Retired Persons.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Meier and Marilyn Priest of Jackson; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, sister, granddaughter and great-grandson.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Church, with the Rev. Walter Fehrmann officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
