Edna May Heuschober Cotner, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of William and Celis Marie Brown Heuschober. She and Virgil James Cotner were married Jan. 11, 1936, in Cape Girardeau. He died Dec. 20, 1997.
Cotner was a member of Maple United Methodist Church and its Day Circle. She enjoyed baking cookies and angel food cake. She was a cutter and marker at Lowenbaum dress factory 17 years and also worked at Woolworth's and Montgomery Ward.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra "Sonnie" Michael and husband Bob of Commerce, Mo., Donna Jo Hindman and husband Eugene of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Gladys Lehne and Virginia Johnson of Cape Girardeau and Pat Hodges of East Prairie, Mo.
Also four grandchildren, Greg Hindman of Patton, Mo., Rhonda Painton of Painton, Mo., Michelle Rushing of Paragould, Ark., Leslie Michael of Alexandria, La.; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Hindman of Benton, Mo., Michael Painton of Muncie, Ind., Matt Rushing of Paragould, Marcus Painton of Painton, Lukas Rushing of Paragould, Nicholas Hindman of Patton; and a great-great-grandchild, Cheyenne Rushing of Paragould.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from noon to service time Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Cooper officiating.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
