DEXTER -- Edna Coffey, 99, of Dexter died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Jan. 8, 1898, in Adams County, Ohio, to Lewis Calhoun and Lydia Jane Chapman Zile. On Sept. 24, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, she married Otto Coffey. He died Oct. 14, 1960...

DEXTER -- Edna Coffey, 99, of Dexter died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Jan. 8, 1898, in Adams County, Ohio, to Lewis Calhoun and Lydia Jane Chapman Zile.

On Sept. 24, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, she married Otto Coffey. He died Oct. 14, 1960.

She was a member of Hopewell General Baptist Church near Essex, where she lived for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Lewis Coffey and Curt Coffey, both of Dexter; five daughters, Audrey Pulling of Parma, Martha Tucker of Gray Ridge, Loretta Mouser of Poplar Bluff, Opal Short of Neelyville and Jean Isbell of Dexter; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, two grandsons and four sisters.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Norman Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in Dexter Cemetery.
