BENTON, Mo. — Edna A. Burford, 91, of Benton died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, in Benton.
She was born May 2, 1917, in Randles, daughter of Joseph and Willemina Werth Kirn. She and Dallas Ben Frank Burford were married July 31, 1937, in Illmo, Mo.
She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and the St. Denis Alter Society. She enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren. She also grew flowers that she provided for church activities.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Edward) Westrich of Chaffee, Mo., and Norma Jean Cleveland of Benton; seven sons, Ben (Kay) Burford of Dundee, Ill., Gary (Debbie) Burford, Ronald (Janis) Burford, Paul (Marilyn) Burford and Lenny (Jane) Burford, all of Benton, Vernon (Carol) Burford of Kelso, Mo., John (Pam) Burford of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Henry Kirn of Cape Girardeau, 31 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Kirn, her mother, Willemina (Werth) Kirn; her husband, Dallas Ben Frank Burford; a son, James Burford; seven brothers; a sister; three half sisters; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Benton Chapel. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Denis Catholic Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating.
Burial will be at St. Denis Church Cemetery in Benton.
