PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Edna M. Biri, 87, of Perryville passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at Independence Care Center. One of 20 children, she was born June 30, 1931, in Glennonville, Missouri, to Herman and Mary Elona Moore Schumer. She and Roy W. Biri were married June 12, 1948. He passed away March 13, 2018, after nearly 70 years of marriage...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Edna M. Biri, 87, of Perryville passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at Independence Care Center.

One of 20 children, she was born June 30, 1931, in Glennonville, Missouri, to Herman and Mary Elona Moore Schumer. She and Roy W. Biri were married June 12, 1948. He passed away March 13, 2018, after nearly 70 years of marriage.

Edna was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and watching the birds. Christmas was her favorite time, and this year, she'll be spending it with Jesus.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Sister Ethel M. Biri of Perryville, Edith (Mag) Matlock of Columbia, Missouri, and Joan Danley-Biri of Dothan, Alabama; two sons, Deacon Walt (Linda) Biri and Michael (Lisa) Biri of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Biri of Farmington, Missouri; two sisters, Leona Richardet and Evelyn Sauer of Perryville; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four half brothers, Dennis Schumer, Edward Schumer and Lawrence Schumer, all of Perryville, and Leonard Schumer of St. Mary, Missouri.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Biri; four brothers; and nine sisters.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, Missouri.

The Rev. Brad Modde will celebrate a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Inurnment will be private, at a later date, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

The family appreciates memorial contributions to the School Sisters of Notre Dame or Kindred Hospice.
