MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Edna Barks, 84, of Marble Hill died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Elder Care of Marble Hill.
She was born Nov. 10, 1919, in McGee, Mo., daughter of Peter Shade and Gladys Hefner Rodgers. She and Sherman Barks were married Dec. 4, 1935, at McGee.
Barks worked at Bussman Fuse 25 years. She had lived with a daughter since 2001. She attended Puxico General Baptist Church in Puxico, Mo., and volunteered at Wappapello Civic Center more than 10 years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Marvin Barks of Silva, Mo.; two daughters, Louise Brotherton of Marble Hill, Eula Smith of Plainwell, Mich.; two brothers, Henry Rodgers of Tulelake, Calif., Peter Rodgers of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lois Wilfong of McGee, Mary Jane Barks of Cahokia, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, after 6 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Kenneth Lambert and Ray Placher officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near McGee.
