Edmond Lee "Tex" Larmie, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Nov. 5, 1928, in Aberdeen, Miss., son of Chester and Tula Perry Larmie. He and Mayme Ellen Hendricks were married Nov. 21, 1949, in St. Louis.
Mr. Larmie was employed 45 years with Pipefitters Union Local 562 in St. Louis. He was a member of VFW Post 3838.
He served with the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1949 aboard the USS Iowa and the USS Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Sherry E. Moore and husband Joe of Cape Girardeau, Ginger S. VanWeelden and husband Gary of Cape Girardeau, Sandra K. Holden and husband Bruce of Olathe, Kan., Linda A. Horrell and husband Jim, and Lorri J. Erlbacher and husband Joe, all of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Edmond L. Larmie and wife Jennifer of Fairfield, Calif., and Ronnie D. Larmie and wife Cathy of Altoona, Iowa.
Also surviving are four sisters, Patsy Brooks of Winter Haven, Fla., Peggy Gass of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Garnell Friend and Barbara Swoffard of Winter Haven; two brothers, Dewey Larmie of Cape Girardeau, Bobby Larmie of Poplar Bluff; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military rites by VFW Post 3838.
