MOREHOUSE -- Edmond Monroe Clark, 79, of Ste. Genevieve died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born March 10, 1917, in Whitehall, Ark., son of Jeff and Estella Rakes Clark. He and Fannie Lucille Groves were married Dec. 11, 1937, at Caruthersville.
Clark lived at Morehouse 43 years, where he owned and operated Clark's Market 33 years. He had lived in Ste. Genevieve six years.
He was a member of Morehouse Faith General Baptist Church, Morehouse Masonic Lodge, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and former member of SEMO Shrine Club. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dannie Clark of Ste. Genevieve; two brothers, Herbert Clark of Fitzgerald, Ga., Harold Clark of Jonesboro, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
