Edith Nowak

Edith Lauraine Nowak, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Life Care Center. She was born April 16, 1935, in Washington County, Mo., daughter of Gilbert W. and Mildred Buchanan DeClue. She and James Sly were married April 23, 1955, in St. Louis. He died Dec. 31, 1977. She later married Jacob Nowak Nov. 12, 1984, in Belleville, Ill. He died Oct. 31, 1997...

Edith Lauraine Nowak, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Life Care Center.

She was born April 16, 1935, in Washington County, Mo., daughter of Gilbert W. and Mildred Buchanan DeClue. She and James Sly were married April 23, 1955, in St. Louis. He died Dec. 31, 1977. She later married Jacob Nowak Nov. 12, 1984, in Belleville, Ill. He died Oct. 31, 1997.

Nowak worked for the city of Breckenridge, Mo., a number of years.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Nowak of Cape Girardeau, Rhonda Sly of Bonne Terre, Mo.; two brothers, Gilbert DeClue of Festus, Mo., David DeClue of Tigard, Ore.; three sisters, Virginia Wagaman of Aloha, Ore., Fredia Dixon of Richwoods, Mo., Betty Wolfe of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

There is no visitation or service.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
