Edith I. Brunke, 83, of 2825 Bloomfield Road, died Saturday, Oct. 2, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 28, 1910, in Campbell, to Elta and Leona Pankey Price.
She married Clyde Reiger in 1927. On April 18, 1947, she married Fred C.L. Brunke in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1993.
Survivors include one son, Clyde Reiger of Bloomsdale; one daughter, Helen Heath of Friedheim; two step-daughters, Jacqulin Surprenant of Indianapolis, Ind. and Patricia Ocheskey of Sikeston; Three brothers, Bual Price of Plato, Carl Price and Adolph Price, both of Pontiac, Mich.
Other survivors include 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers, and three sisters.
Brunke worked for over 27 years for the Simpson Oil Company of Cape Girardeau, and later, at Southeast Missouri State University.
She was a charter member of the Bethany Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m., today, at Ford and Sons South Sprigg Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, at Ford and Sons South Sprigg Street Chapel, with the Rev. Dale Niswonger and the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
