SIKESTON, Mo. -- Edith Dumay, 91, of Harrisonville, Mo., formerly of Sikeston, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. She was born Jan. 27, 1915, in Bonne Terre, Mo., daughter of George William and Mary Stephanie Bouchard Frey. She and Oliver Louis Dumay were married Feb. 12, 1934, in Sikeston. SIKESTON, Mo. -- Edith Dumay, 91, of Harrisonville, Mo., formerly of Sikeston, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville.

She was born Jan. 27, 1915, in Bonne Terre, Mo., daughter of George William and Mary Stephanie Bouchard Frey. She and Oliver Louis Dumay were married Feb. 12, 1934, in Sikeston. He died April 25, 1990.

Dumay was a 1933 graduate of Sikeston High School and a member of the girls championship basketball team.

She had been a secretary for Sikeston School District, caseworker with Department of Welfare in Scott County, was employed many years by International Shoe Co. and was pitcher for its softball team. After retiring, she was a volunteer with Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include two sons. Ronald Dumay of Leawood, Kan., Richard Dumay of Charleston, S.C.; a brother, Stanford Frey of Scott City; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
