EDGAR SCHOTT

Graveside service for Edgar R. Schott of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Denis Catholic Church Cemetery in Benton, Mo. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. A prayer service will be held at 7.

Schott, 87, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Jan. 12, 1913, in Dallas, Texas, son of Lawrence and Christie Krieger Schott. He and Beatrice Brock were married April 14, 1936, at Benton. She died Jan. 25, 1975. He and Glenda Davis were married Nov. 4, 1978, at Benton.

Schott lived at Benton most of his life. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and National Rural Letter Carriers Association.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jan Schott of Evergreen, Colo.; a brother, Hugo Schott of San Antonio, Texas; two stepsons, Joe Davis of Benton, Jim Davis of Kennett, Mo.; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
