Ed Groves, 67, of Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 11, 1949, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Thomas Allen and Ellen Marian Stockett Groves. He and Donna Lynn King were married Oct. 14, 1968, in Nashville.
He served in the Army Reserves.
Ed moved to Cape Girardeau in December 2014 from Huntsville, Alabama, to work for KBSI. Most recently, he worked for a Chattanooga, Tennessee, company in television-program distribution.
He was a member of La Croix United Methodist Church, Rotary, the Quarterback Club in Huntsville and was a Shriner. He also was active in the Jackson and Cape Girardeau chambers of commerce.
He loved to golf and to ride his Harley motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Groves of Jackson; son, Tommy (Tiffany) Groves of Hanson, Kentucky; daughter, Angela (Ben) Crawley of Maryville, Tennessee; two sisters, Suzanne Allgood of Louisville, Kentucky, and Patricia (Rick) Autery of La Vergne, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Joshua, Gabriel, Casey, Brady and Alexandria; and his beloved cat, Maddie Girl.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home-Jackson.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brett Cheek officiating. A memorial service also will be held at a later date in Nashville.
