Ed Carr, 73, 4379 State Highway 74, died Sunday, March 19, 1995, at his home. He was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Vaiden, Miss., son of Wilbert and Fannie Kennel Carr. Ed Carr, 73, 4379 State Highway 74, died Sunday, March 19, 1995, at his home.

He was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Vaiden, Miss., son of Wilbert and Fannie Kennel Carr. He and Bertha Burleson Grimes were married Oct. 17, 1986, in Cape Girardeau.

Carr was a self-employed scrap metal broker. He had also been a truck driver with Nip Kelley, and was pastor of New Home Baptist Church in Oran.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, James Carr of state of Washington, Jimmy and David Carr of Springfield, Steven Carr, state of Florida, Chris Carr of Carbondale, Ill., John Carr of Leavenworth, Kan.; three daughters, Linda Carr of St. Louis, Eleanor Carr of Norfolk, Va., Martha Carr of Olathe, Kan.; three stepsons, Troy Grimes of Iron Mountain, Kenneth and Rodger Grimes of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Patricia French of Oran; several brothers and sisters; eight grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren, and a great-stepgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sons.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from noon to 9 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Don Cox officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
